"Storytelling Series — Transition in Action Through a Banker’s Lens" (Part 1)
Happy New Year 2026!
As we step into a new year, I’ve been reflecting on the conversations, insights, and feedback shared throughout 2025, especially after completing the VBIAF × CCPT mini-series and the CGM Global Summit reflections.
One question kept coming up from RMs and SMEs:
“All this makes sense… but what does it look like in real life?”
And that’s a fair question; because sustainability doesn’t live in frameworks, taxonomies, or policies. It lives in conversations, decisions, and the day-to-day realities of Malaysian businesses.
So, to begin 2026 on a practical, ground-level note, I’m launching a 5-part storytelling series. Simple, relatable snapshots of how RMs and SMEs work together on their sustainability and transition journey, told through a banker’s lens.
Across Automotive Parts, Food Manufacturing, Textile & Dyeing, FMCG Trading, and Construction Material Trading, I’ll share real examples of how transition opportunities look very different from industry to industry.
And I’ll start with a familiar story:
"How an SME Automotive Parts Supplier Began Its Sustainability Journey from Red → Amber"
How one Relationship Manager asked the right question at the right time and helped an automotive parts supplier SME move from Red → Amber, opening the door to a new growth path.
These stories are not just about transition - they’re about people, decisions, challenges, and possibilities.
I’ll be sharing all five industry stories throughout January 2026, and I invite you to follow along, question, reflect, and apply what resonates in your own RM–SME conversations.
Here’s to a meaningful and impactful year ahead and to building a stronger sustainability culture together.
